Madonna refused to confirm or deny whether Kylie Minogue will appear on her next album Confessions II, and he did so with the kind of smile that suggests the answer might well be yes.
The two pop icons appeared together on the BBC show. The Graham Norton Showwhich will air on Friday, June 26, when host Graham Norton put them both on the spot.
“There are rumors that Kylie is in Confessions II. “Are you confirming that rumor?” he asked Madonna directly. The 67-year-old responded that her “job was to be mysterious.”
Minogue, 58, laughed and noted that Madonna is “good at deflecting,” which, if you don’t deny it, is a big contribution.
The appearance brought together two of pop’s most enduring figures and the chemistry between them was unmistakable.
The couple reflected on their moment together during Madonna’s Celebration Tour show in Los Angeles in May 2024, where they performed Minogue’s hit. I can’t get you out of my head together.
“What a moment. I loved it,” Minogue said.
Minogue had spoken to PEOPLE in December about the possibility of a studio collaboration, saying at the time that no discussion had occurred, but leaving the door wide open.
“Obviously I would,” he said of working with Madonna.
“So, there hasn’t been any discussion, but if it happened, it would be great.” It seems a lot has happened since December.
Confessions IIscheduled for July 3, it is shaping up to be a significant moment for Madonna.
Elsewhere in the interview with Norton, she was shown working in the studio and reflected on her creative process.
“It’s like I’m possessed. Ideas come when I don’t try too hard,” she said. She also described the track. one step away as coming “from the soul.”
It remains delightfully unconfirmed for now whether or not Minogue’s voice will appear on July 3.
