Spain is set to face Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before the clash, Real Madrid left-back Marc Cucurella went to COPE’s Spanish radio show El Partidazo and announced that he would get a strange tattoo if Spain manages to lift the trophy.
The 27-year-old Spaniard said that if Spain wins the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he will get a tattoo of the face of the coach of the Spanish soccer team, Luis de la Fuente. He added that the tattoo will be small but he has not chosen the place to tattoo it.
Cucurella said it was not for laughs but to pay tribute to Fuente, who continued to choose him despite his disappointing performances in euros.
Cucurella has a history of performing crazy challenges every time Spain wins a title. In 2024, after Spain won the European Championship, the iconic player dyed his famous curly hair bright red and actually went with it.
Spain reached the final by beating France 2-0 and now faces an Argentine team that beat England in the semifinals with a Lautaro MartÃnez header in stoppage time. Victory would give Spain its second World Cup title in 16 years. Spain won its first title in 2010.
Argentina is the defending champion and if Spain defeats Argentina, fans could see Fuente’s face tattooed on Cucurella’s body.
