Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynchronized Game director Richard Knight has revealed that development team staff have ideas for downloadable content (DLC), but are unsure if Cry of freedom The expansion will have a new version.
In an interview with YouTuber JorRaptor, Knight was asked if the team is actively exploring additional post-launch content, such as a new version of the Freedom Cry DLC, which takes place 15 years after the main game and stars Edward Kenway’s friend and quartermaster Adéwalé.
While Knight acknowledged that the 13-year-old DLC is loved not only by fans but also by the team, plans for the game’s future are uncertain. He explained that for now he is focused on updating the base game, but revealed that team members have “ideas for DLC.”
“The reception has been incredible, but it’s still very early,” Knight said. “I know some people on the team have ideas for DLC. We need to balance them with our future and then update the main game.”
“But beyond that, I just want to say that our approach Black Flag The remake has always been Edward,” he added. “He’s the kind of soul of the original game, so you know maybe there could be more to tell there too.”
The director couldn’t comment further on the plans or a possible DLC, only that the team is very busy at the moment.
In the same interview, Knight also confirmed that New Game Plus is in the works, but was unable to offer a release date.
“This is the only thing I can say: Yes, we are working on it right now,” Knight told JorRaptor. “Sure. It’s one of the first things. Partly because Darkness has already built its version, so we consider it a low-risk feature. We’re still working on it, so I can’t promise exactly a day or anything, but we’re definitely working on this. “It’s something so natural.”
When asked if the Darkness‘New Game Plus made it easier for the Resynchronized Black Flag team to add the feature to the game, joked that Simon Lemay-Comtois, associate game director of Darkness“did the hard work” of introducing it in the first place, and gives the Resynchronized Black Flag team “something to look at”.
“We have different challenges in terms of how it works,” he said. “We can’t necessarily jump into hiding. But we’re looking into it.”
Regarding the possibility of the game having additional rewards for New Game Plus, as in DarknessKnight suggested that the game is still in early development, but “if it’s up to me, yes.”
“There are still discussions about production about what we can do and how long it takes,” he said. “Every item we make needs a model. Sometimes it needs a fabric simulation. All kinds of things.”
In terms of a release date for the mode, he added: “I can’t really promise anything, other than to say that it’s at the top of the list of things. There are a lot of things. Some are harder than others, but it’s something we definitely want to do.”
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynchronized It is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC.
