Machine Gun Kelly shattered his back after fans failed to catch him as he attempted to throw himself off a roof.
On Tuesday, June 9, the rapper-slash-rockstar took to his Instagram Stories to reveal that he was seriously injured during his Lost American Tour stop in Hartford three days earlier.
“I messed up my back badly,” MGK said in one video, sitting on a couch as he struggled to get the words out. “I have trouble even just standing or lifting things. I can’t even stand without using my arms and upper body strength to help support my back.”
Born Colson Baker, the musician assured his fans that he will not cancel any of his upcoming shows, although he asked for some understanding. “If I move funky at any of these upcoming shows, I don’t want you to think I’m not giving it my all,” the Grammy nominee said.
“I’m really fucking hurt, man,” he continued. “It hurts to breathe. But I’m going to heal mentally. I know this is a big mind game and I know my body is pretty indestructible, so I have to…nothing is more important than the show that’s happening, you know? I don’t cancel anything.”
MGK has 15 stops left Lost American World tour, including multiple shows in Canada. The tour began in November 2025 with dates in Europe and the United Kingdom in early 2026.
