Microsoft acknowledges a Windows 11 bug that affects the Recycle Bin and ‘fed up’ users believe AI coding is to blame

  • A new Windows 11 error has reached the Recycle Bin
  • You may see an incorrect file name
  • Microsoft says it is working on a fix

The latest frustrating bug affecting Windows 11 affects the trusty Recycle Bin and was apparently delivered in the latest Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), although Microsoft says it is aware of the issue and is working to fix it.

As Neowin reports, the bug means that when you try to delete a file from the Recycle Bin, the confirmation dialog displays the internal file name instead of the actual file name. It’s not particularly serious, but it is confusing.
