Certificate/Special Savings Account at 11.6% per year for the first 5 earnings payments
ISLAMABAD:
The government has increased the benefit rates of National Savings Schemes and Islamic Sarwa Schemes with effect from May 26, 2026.
According to a notification, the National Savings Department has revised the benefit rates for certain plans, while maintaining the existing rates for others. According to the notification, it has set the benefit rate of the Special Savings Certificate/Account at 11.6% per annum for the first five benefit payments, while the final payment will carry a return of 12.4% per annum.
Similarly, the department increased the earning rates on Short-Term Savings Certificates. For terms of three months, six months and one year, it has set the annual profit rates at 10.84%, 10.58% and 11.23% respectively. The profit rate of the Savings Account has been set at 10% per year.
However, it made no changes to the profit rates of Defense Savings Certificates, Bahbood Savings Certificates, Pensioner Benefit Account and Shuhada Family Welfare Account, which will continue to generate an annual profit of 12%.
Increased earning rates for Sarwa Islamic Term Account and Sarwa Islamic Savings Account. The one-year Islamic term account will now offer an expected annual return of 10.93%, while the five-year account will have an expected annual return of 11.16%.
