The leaders directed party workers to intensify the campaign by launching a wide-ranging door-to-door outreach campaign.
MUZAFFARABAD:
The PML-N central leadership on Friday held a key consultative meeting with party leaders to review arrangements for former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to AJK and preparations for the party’s election campaign.
The meeting decided that Nawaz, who is also PML-N president, would address two major public rallies in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur during his visit to the region. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is also expected to accompany him in both the meetings.
Participants reviewed the party’s election campaign, organizational coordination, demonstration arrangements, and its overall election strategy.
The leaders ordered party workers to intensify the campaign by launching an extensive door-to-door outreach campaign and mobilizing their supporters across the region before the elections.
Addressing the gathering, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam said the PML-N would carry out a vigorous election campaign in AJK, adding that resolving public issues and ensuring development and prosperity of the region remained the party’s top priorities.
He said the PML-N government had completed several major development projects in AJK and noted that the prime minister had announced the establishment of daanish schools in the territory without any formal request from the AJK government.
Muqam stressed the importance of holding timely, free and transparent elections, describing them as the most effective way to address people’s problems. He said the PML-N leadership had a long-standing commitment to the people of Kashmir and had always supported them in difficult times.
Concluding the meeting, the participants expressed confidence that the party would achieve victory in the AJK general elections on July 27, 2026 due to its record of public service, development agenda and governance performance.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah, Muqam, PML-N AJK President Ghulam Qadir, Raja Farooq Haider, Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar and other leaders.
