Netflix has (very quietly) announced that season 5 of the legal drama Lincoln’s Lawyerwhich is currently in development, will be the last.
The news is part of a list of 17 Netflix shows that will be affected after 2026, which includes Alice on the border The night agent, The abandonments and Panting.
According to Term, Lincoln’s Lawyer appeared on Netflix’s Global Top 10 charts for 29 weeks across its four seasons and has garnered 171 million views as of 2023.
Season 4 launched with nine million views in its opening weekend, which is actually more than the seven million for the third season’s debut.
While Netflix hasn’t given a direct reason for the shows it decided to cancel, fans shouldn’t worry too much just yet: Season 5 might be the last, but it means we still have a promised satisfying ending ahead of us.

Series developer Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez addressed the decision in a press release, promising “the satisfying ending Mickey Haller deserves.”
“All good things must come to an end, but fortunately sometimes it’s up to us how they come to an end. From the beginning, the mission was always to not only tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a fitting conclusion,” he said.
Details about the specific plot of Season 5 are not publicly available, and since the episodes are still in production, the showrunners should be able to tweak as much as necessary to provide a complete and resolved send-off (i.e. no pesky threads left untied).
All of this is most likely a springboard for what we saw at the end of season 4, which ended with Mickey Haller (Manuel García-Rulfo) recovering from being framed for murder.

While Lincoln’s Lawyer As a television show will come to an end, we cannot rule out possible spin-offs or a film treatment, as we just saw with Peaky Blinders. In short, everything is possible.
