It’s not every day a Dallas Cowboys press conference is interrupted, much less by a former president of the United States.
Former President Bill Clinton crashed the Cowboys’ pre-draft press conference on Wednesday.
Jones turned to his left when he heard the commotion and started laughing: “Look at this here, get in this house,” Jones said.

Clinton entered the room and said, laughing, that he was “negotiating the draft.” Jones stepped down from the podium to greet Clinton and stumbled as he approached him.
“He has been a wonderful, not only president, but a friend over the years, and I am very happy to have him here today,” Jones said.
Clinton said he was glad to see Jones and wished him a good draft day. Jones then went on to explain his relationship with the media and why it is so important to him.

“They’ve spent their life and they’ve chosen to spend their life in sports and that’s why they’re here. And they could have been a doctor or a lawyer,” Jones said. “And then when they pick me, you know what, and they do it, I say, ‘We’re actually cousins because we both chose to spend our years playing sports around here.’ So be a little sweeter if you want.”
“And that’s it, a great group of people, they do a great job and they are a big part of what sports and what the NFL is about and this, without a doubt, will be the biggest press conference held in the NFL today.”
Clinton’s emergence will only increase the attention the Cowboys are receiving heading into the draft. The Cowboys hold the 12th and 20th overall picks in the NFL Draft, making them one of six teams to own multiple first-round picks.

The NFL Draft begins Thursday at 8 pm ET.
