The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly made kicker Brandon Aubrey the richest kicker in NFL history.
The Cowboys announced Tuesday that they signed Aubrey to a four-year, $28 million contract extension, and several outlets reported the terms. The 31-year-old will become the first kicker in NFL history to earn $7 million per season.
Aubrey has spent three seasons with the Cowboys, making the Pro Bowl in all of them. For his career, Aubrey has made 112 of 127 field goals for a field goal percentage of 88.2%.

Aubrey’s path to NFL stardom hasn’t been linear. He went to high school in the Dallas area and played soccer at Notre Dame before being drafted by Toronto FC in the 2017 MLS draft.

He was working as a software engineer in Arlington, where the Cowboys play at AT&T Stadium, when his wife encouraged him to pursue a career as a kicker. Aubrey spent two years in the USFL and signed with the Cowboys before the 2023 training camp.
He had the best start to his career as he set an NFL record for most kicks taken without a miss to begin his career with 35. That was the first of many records he would set during his three years with the Cowboys.
