Unfortunately, Nikki Bella was sidelined from WrestleMania 42 and was unable to go after the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with her sister Brie.
Instead, the best thing happened. Nikki Bella came out and addressed the Las Vegas crowd and announced that Paige would be her replacement. Fans were electrified to see Paige return after several years away. She and Brie Bella would win the titles.

Ahead of Brie Bella and Paige’s tag team title defense against Nia Jax and Lash Legend in Saturday night’s main event, Nikki Bella recalled the WrestleMania moment in a recent interview with Pak Gazette Digital.
“It was incredible,” he recalled. “I feel like there’s no one else who could have taken my place and had that kind of impact than Paige because we have a lot of history with Paige and Paige is really like a sister to Brie and I and she’s a big star with a lot of equity. I was so happy for her. I mean, obviously, you’re down about the injury anyway. I couldn’t even say the word medically correct, you’re so excited.”
Bella said she was happy for her sister and Paige for their tag team victory, adding that she noticed the two may have better in-ring chemistry than her.

“But I was so happy for Paige and also, Brie and Paige have very similar vibes,” she said. “I almost feel more like me and Brie. They’re like plaid, punk girls. So when I see them every week on TV, I’m like, this really works. This is great. So it makes me very, very happy for her and for Paige and for Brie.”
Bella, who became the director of Madam Paleta Tequila’s Margarita, is working hard to return to action after suffering a serious ankle injury.
He explained his timeline to Pak Gazette Digital.
“As of now, I get X-rays in mid-June. So, X-rays, MRIs, to see how the growth is: Have my bones completely grown back? Everything,” he said. “But today I was really excited because I was able to do squats for the first time. So I’ve been working with my trainer and my physical therapist and last week I was able to get it up to a level where now we can focus on strengthening. So, I will say, it’s a lot of work. My broken neck was a lot easier than this and how is that possible?”

“But I was really excited this morning because being back in a squat position and even though it’s obviously not the weight I’m used to, but starting somewhere, it felt so good. And doing a real full workout, and don’t get me wrong, there are some things where I look like a baby deer and my legs are shaking like no other, but I have a starting point. I’m working really hard to try to get my strength as strong as possible by the time they take those x-rays, because if I can get the go-ahead, in the middle or the end of June, then they test strength, you go through all these strength tests, I’m trying to get mine as close as possible.”

For now, Bella will have to sit back and watch her sister and Paige at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Fort Wayne, Indiana at 8 pm ET.
