Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If instead you are looking for the Friday puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Friday, July 3 (Game #852).
Strands is the latest NYT word game after Wordle, Spelling Bee, and Connections, and it’s a lot of fun. It can be difficult, though, so read on for my Strands suggestions.

NYT Strands Today (Game #853): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #853 are…
- BRIGHT
- COLORFUL
- DAZZLING
- EXCITING
- SPARKLING
- SPANGRAM: FIREWORKS
- My rating: Hard
- My score: 1 track
Talk about a topic that could mean absolutely anything.
Totally in the dark, a feeling that’s not entirely unusual to be honest, I worked my way around the board looking for non-game words to get a clue. Instead, I watched the FIREWORKS on spangram and remembered today’s date.
I recently attended a fireworks show that was disappointing, partly due to the murky conditions, but also because the drones that made up much of the show had to be viewed from a particular angle to impress; a case of “huh?” instead of “oh!”
In the meantime, it was nice to see some color on the Strands for a change. A rare gift.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Friday, July 3, Game #852)
- STUBBORN
- STUBBORN
- DELIBERATE
- FIRM
- WILLFUL
- SPANGRAM: NO MOVEMENT
