A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If instead you are looking for the Friday puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Friday, June 12 (Game #831).

NYT Strands Today (Game #832): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #832 are…
- MUSIC
- SONG
- LINE
- LYRIC
- LOUDSPEAKER
- MICROPHONE
- SPANGRAM: KARAOKE
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
“Track event” – that’s track and field, right? Err, no.
Fortunately, spangram (KARAOKE) was very hard to miss, so I didn’t have to work looking for shot put, discus, and javelin. Instead, our search was to look for musical words.
I’ve always avoided KARAOKE, both because of having to sing (which is a nightmare) and because of the horror of people murdering some of the best songs of all time. It’s pretty hard to avoid on TV shows, though; I recently suffered through Alfred Molina trying Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen in the otherwise enjoyable The districts. At least I think it was Thunder Road. It’s the kind of thing that should come with a warning before you start watching.
Anyway, I digress… the game was easy, and was made even easier by a couple of long words on MICROPHONE and SPEAKER.
Answers from yesterday’s NYT Strands (Friday, June 12, Game #831)
- BODY
- SPOT
- HOOK
- ISSUE
- PROBLEM
- CONCLUSION
- SPANGRAM: PARTS OF SPEECH
