Are you looking for a different day?
A new NYT Strands puzzle appears at midnight every day for your time zone, which means some people are always playing “today’s game” while others play “yesterday’s.” If you are instead looking for Wednesday’s puzzle then click here: NYT Strands Tips and Answers for Wednesday, June 17 (Game #836).

NYT Strands Today (Game #837): The Answers
The answers to today’s Strands game #837 are…
- CRAB
- ALGA
- SHARK
- FISH
- PLANKTON
- URCHIN
- ALGAE
- SPANGRAM: CORAL REEF
- My rating: Hard
- My score: Perfect
I didn’t need any hints in this game, but I wasted a lot of time getting word parts as non-game words before I realized what we were actually looking for: “chin” before we saw HEDGEHOG, “grass” before ALGAE, and “reef” long before we put together the Spangram.
I spent a few years living by the ocean and swam regularly along the coast, but I don’t think I ever thought about what was under my feet at the bottom of the sea.
However, I recently saw some underwater images on TikTok of exactly where I used to go swimming and I was shocked to see thousands and thousands of starfish; It was a pretty strange feeling to think that they were probably there all the time.
Anyway, I digress. Due to its marine nature, which as I’m sure made me daydream, I thoroughly enjoyed this game despite finding it complicated.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Wednesday, June 17, Game #836)

- TRACTOR
