“It’s a little confusing” is a phrase I could use every day in relation to Strands and his bewildering alphabet soup that is slowly gaining attention.
My lack of mental clarity was brilliantly summed up in today’s search, which highlighted words that described a dulled vision (often deliberately, for artistic purposes) and a thought process that lacked similar acuity.
Despite my slow progress, I managed to complete the board without a clue, although there was a lot of doubt (especially about BEDIMMED, which still doesn’t seem like a real word to me), and I stopped in the final moments to admire the eyepiece-shaped spangram. It’s a wonder how they pull off these understated wonders.

- GRILL
- MOWER
- FORKLIFT TRUCK
