obsessionThe 2026 breakout movie that has had everyone talking since it hit theaters on May 15, is finally available to watch at home, but only if you live in specific countries.
The biggest surprise package of the year, which cost around $750,000 to make and, as of this writing, has almost surpassed $400 million globally, is now available on some of the world’s best streaming services.
Right now in the US, you can rent the supernatural horror romance film directed by Curry Barker on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms like Apple TV and Amazon for $19.99. Alternatively, you can permanently add it to your digital movie collection for $24.99.
For those who have been living under a rock for the last seven weeks and know nothing about it, Obsession tells the story of Bear (Michael Johnston), a lovesick loser who doesn’t know how to tell Nicki (Inde Navarette), his longtime love, how he really feels.
However, Bear soon discovers a mysterious object called ‘One Wish Willow’, which is said to grant any wish an individual desires. Bottom line: Bear buys one and wants Nicki to love him more than anything in the world, and it doesn’t take him long to realize he’s made a terrible, terrible mistake.
Buoyed by Navarette’s outstanding award-worthy performance and positive word of mouth, Obsession has had fans, well, obsessed for almost two months now. Armed with a simple but highly effective story, deeply uncomfortable themes, and scenes that will stay with you long after the credits have rolled, it’s essentially this year’s book. Kpop Demon Huntersalthough without album-worthy songs and, you know, definitely No being for children.
Why can’t I watch Obsession at home yet?

Unfortunately, while moviegoers in the US can definitely watch it starting today (June 30), movie fans in other territories aren’t so lucky. In fact, in a thread related to the launch of its digital platform on r/movies, numerous fans have expressed their disappointment that the dark, scary comedy film is not available to watch at home in their world region.
Right now it seems that Obsession It can be rented or purchased in the US and New Zealand. However, I checked Prime Video and Apple TV in the UK and it’s not available on any of the video on demand (VoD) services. There is also no indication of when it will be.
Hopefully, it won’t be long. Obsession hits PVOD platforms globally and, once its mammoth box office run finally comes to an end, other streamers including Peacock (US) and Netflix (internationally). Until then, you’ll just have to watch it at your local theater for the umpteenth time.
