Olivia Rodrigo has announced that she will be launching her own music festival and the line-up is, by any measure, extraordinary.
The Daisy Chain Fields Festival will take place on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California, and will feature an all-female lineup.
Rodrigo shared the news on social media, making it clear that this is something he has been working on for years.
“I’ve truly never been more excited to share news with all of you. I’ve had a dream to do this festival for years and I’m so excited for it to finally come true!!”
The lineup alongside Rodrigo includes Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, the Breeders, Bikini Kill, Garbage, Die Spitz, Eli, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri and Not for Radio, with special guests Karen O, Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan.
“The lineup is really crazy and full of my heroes and friends,” Rodrigo wrote.
Beyond the music, the festival has a clear philanthropic purpose.
Every penny of net profits will go to charities focused on the advancement and advocacy of women and girls, with partners including Planned Parenthood, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Baby2Baby, the National Women’s Law Center, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, among others.
“I firmly believe that joy, community and music can be drivers of meaningful change and I hope this festival will be just that,” Rodrigo said.
“I can’t wait to scream, dance and sing with you on August 29th!!!”
Fans can register for pre-sale access on the festival website.
The announcement comes as Rodrigo enjoys the success of his third album. You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming their third consecutive album to top the chart.
