KARACHI:
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended until April 30 a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) allowing airlines operating to and from Pakistan to transport increased quantities of fuel from abroad, in response to current operational concerns related to the regional situation in the Middle East and fuel supply constraints.
The decision comes amid continued disruptions and logistical challenges in the availability of jet fuel, prompting aviation authorities to maintain special operational measures for international carriers.
The extension builds on previous directives issued by the authority, which were introduced to manage fuel planning requirements for airlines operating through Pakistan during a period of regional uncertainty.
Officials said the updated NOTAM further extends these arrangements to ensure continuity of flight operations and reduce potential operational risks.
