Foreign Minister Dar and Fidan discuss Jordan’s proposal for an Arab-Islamic meeting during a phone call

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan expressed their deep concern during a telephone conversation on Thursday over Israeli military actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, as well as the repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.
“Both foreign ministers expressed their deep concern over the continued Israeli military actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, the repeated violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem and the worsening humanitarian situation,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said in a statement.
The statement came amid violations of the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex by Israeli settlers and continued Israeli military operations in Gaza, along with the expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank.
A day earlier, fourteen Arab and Palestinian institutions and organizations also issued an urgent appeal calling for collective action to protect occupied Jerusalem amid what they described as an escalation of Israeli violations targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city’s historical identity. The appeal warned of an unprecedented Israeli escalation targeting the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the residents of Jerusalem and the city’s Arab, Islamic and Christian identity, saying the measures seek to create new realities on the ground and consolidate control by force.
A MoFO statement said FM Dar, in talks with his Turkish counterpart, exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, with special attention to the conflict in Palestine.
“They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate diplomatic efforts in support of the Palestinian people,” he said.

A day earlier, Foreign Minister Dar held similar talks with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, with both expressing “serious concern” about the situation in the Palestinian territories. Both condemned continued Israeli military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, emphasized the need for an “immediate cessation of hostilities” and unhindered humanitarian assistance, and also discussed Jordan’s proposal to convene a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to coordinate diplomatic efforts in support of the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile, fresh Israeli strikes killed three Palestinians and wounded 20 others in the latest ceasefire violations in the Gaza Strip today, doctors said. In southern Gaza, a medical source at Nasser Hospital said two Palestinians were killed and 16 others, including children, were wounded in an Israeli drone strike on civilians in the Al-Majayda area of Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis.
The same source said that a young man suffered moderate injuries after Israeli forces opened fire near the Rafah Garage area in central Khan Younis.
Israeli artillery shelling was also reported on the eastern outskirts of Al-Qarara, north of Khan Younis, with no immediate reports of casualties. In northern Gaza, a medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital said one Palestinian was killed and three others were wounded, including two children, when an Israeli drone attacked a group of civilians in the Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.

Israeli forces also conduct almost daily military incursions into the occupied West Bank, frequently carrying out arrests and attacks on Palestinians and their property. The escalation comes amid an intensification of Israeli military and occupation attacks in the occupied West Bank since the start of Israel’s genocidal war against Gaza in October 2023.
According to official Palestinian figures, at least 1,182 Palestinians have been killed, around 13,000 have been injured and almost 24,000 have been arrested in the occupied West Bank during that period.
Despite the ceasefire, Israeli strikes since October 10, 2025 have killed 1,209 Palestinians and injured 3,943 others, most of them women and children, according to Palestinian authorities.
The pace of Israeli incursions and occupier violence has further escalated since Friday’s incident in the town of Tell, near Nablus, where four Palestinians and two Israelis were killed during clashes between Israeli occupiers, Palestinian residents and the Israeli army.
Israel has continued its military offensive in Gaza since October 8, 2023. According to Palestinian authorities, the war has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians and injured more than 174,000, while destroying around 90% of the enclave’s civilian infrastructure.
