Spain’s thrilling FIFA World Cup victory over Argentina in extra time was marred by a post-match brawl involving Leandro Paredes and Eric García.
The aggressive attack and mischief of the Argentine team caused a confrontation between both squads. Paredes was seen approaching a post-match fight between players from the two nations and putting his hand on Garcia’s throat.

Paredes received a red card after the whistle and was sent off. He also received a yellow card during the match for a hard tackle shortly after entering the match.
Argentine coach Lionel Scaloni was held down by a Spain player while yelling at someone. Nicolás Otamendi exchanged words with several Spanish players, including Rodri.
“We are kind in victory and we must be kind in defeat,” Scaloni said via ESPN. “We accepted the loss; we gave everything. We were under a lot of pressure coming into this, but giving everything, like they did today, is a great example for our people and our country.

“You lose and you have to get up again.”
The BBC’s Joe Hart criticized Argentina for the fight.
“There was a man on the pitch who had class and that was Lionel Messi, who shook the hand of every one of those Spanish players,” he said via Goal.com. “The game is over. They could have absolutely no complaints about what happened today. Disgusting behavior.”
