A Super Bowl champion has died after committing suicide, the former NFL player’s family confirmed Thursday.
Jordan Devey, who won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, died by suicide, the family announced in a GoFundMe campaign posted this week.
The post said the suicide left “his family going through an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time.”

The former offensive lineman had recently been training at Eagle High School in Idaho. The GoFundMe said Devey “was a beloved member of the Eagle community, known for his unwavering dedication to serving others.”
“He was a devoted husband to Linsey and a loving father to his four children. Jordan spent countless hours volunteering as a coach for his own children’s teams and for the athletes at Eagle High School, where the players loved him deeply and viewed him as a mentor, role model, and friend. His commitment to uplifting those around him extended far beyond sports, as he faithfully served his church, offering support, advice, and friendship to anyone who needed it,” the GoFundMe reads.

Devey’s date of death is unknown, but his widow posted on Instagram earlier this week about what would have been their 15th wedding anniversary.
“We have filled the walls of our homes and hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles and triumphs. We brought 4 beautiful children into this world who have your eyes, freckles and compassion. You were our hero and our hearts ache for your absence. We love you. We miss you. And as you told me in your last words, ‘we will talk soon,’ Linsey wrote, along with photos of her next to his hospital bed and another from her wedding.
Devey had not posted on Instagram since June 1.
After playing at Memphis, Devey began his NFL career on the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad before being signed by the Patriots in 2014, starting six games and winning the Super Bowl. He then played for the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills. He started 21 of his 44 games.
