Pink reveals what she’s “afraid” of, but does it anyway

Pink has revealed that she has a real fear of heights, and that is precisely why she continues to throw herself into the air at her concerts.

The singer, 46, appeared in Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, June 2, where she talked about the phobia and the logic behind refusing to let him win.

She recalled an early incident that confirmed how real the fear is, describing a trip with her husband Carey down a cliff road that ended with her demanding to get out of the car and walk.

“I said, ‘Let me out or I won’t talk to you again.’ I had to walk. I can’t stand heights,” she said.

“And that’s why I do that. I believe in feeling the fear and doing it anyway.”

Far from being a problem, aerial performances have become the defining spectacle of his live shows, and he described the effect they have on audiences as the main reason he continues to perform them.

“It turns 50-year-old men into 6-year-old boys… Like the first time you see magic,” he said. “People tell me that every night. That’s why I get so bored at home.”

When Meyers asked her how she turns off fear once it’s in the air, she was direct about it.

“It’s very liberating. My mom once told me, ‘Are you never going to stay down?’ And I thought, ‘Why should I?’ If I can do this, if I can convince people to shoot me from the stage, why wouldn’t I? “It’s a lot of fun.”
