President signs Finance Law 2026-27


The implementation of the nearly Rs 18.71 trillion federal budget for fiscal years 2026-27 will officially begin on July 1.

ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday signed the Finance Bill 2026-27 after its approval by Parliament, paving the way for the federal budget to come into force from July 1 after its publication in the official gazette.

With the consent of the President, the Finance Bill will now be sent to the Pakistan Printing Press for publication in the official gazette.

Once the gazette notification is issued, Finance Law 2026-27 will formally come into force, putting the federal budget and all related fiscal measures into effect at the beginning of the new financial year.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the implementation of the nearly Rs 18.71 trillion federal budget for fiscal years 2026-27 will officially begin on July 1.

All tax measures, duty reviews and other tax provisions contained in the Finance Law will also come into force from the same date.

The Finance Act provides for a seven per cent increase in salaries and pensions of government employees, while the revised structure of taxes and duties approved in the budget will also be applicable from July 1.
