Prince William received an unexpected request at the end of a particularly emotional day in a surprising turn of events.
The future King, who had been at the Europa League final in Turkey on Wednesday, was in tears as his favorite team, Aston Villa, claimed their first cup victory in three decades. William had been a fan of the team since childhood, so it was a special moment for him.
William had forgotten he was the heir to the throne for a while, given his reaction, although the team hadn’t. One of the players, John McGinn, revealed that the Prince of Wales had visited them in the dressing room before the match.
John called him the “normal, classy guy” who is a “big fan” of the team.
After his big victory and trophy presentation, John had revealed his daring plans to make the future king of England foot the bill for his celebrations.
“It’s great to have your support and I hope you continue and tonight you can have a couple of drinks with us and maybe get your credit card out at the end of the night.” he said TNT.
It’s safe to assume that the after-party would have been a massive (and expensive) celebration with all the players and staff gathering to commemorate the victory. However, even if William had to take out his credit card, he could easily pay the bill given his net worth.
