Prominent Brahui and Baloch poet, author and assistant professor killed by unidentified gunmen

Prominent Balochistan litterateur Professor Muhammad Khan, popularly known as Ghamkhwar Hayat, was killed in a targeted attack on the outskirts of Nushki on Saturday.
According to police, unidentified armed assailants opened fire on the professor near Killi Mengal while he was on his way to Quetta.
The attackers fled the scene immediately after the incident. Police reached the spot following the report, took the body to Nushki University Hospital and handed it over to the heirs after completing legal formalities. An investigation has been launched into the murder.

Professor Hayat was serving as an assistant professor at Degree College Nushki. He was widely respected as a distinguished writer, poet, short story writer and translator in both the Brahui and Baloch languages.
He is the author of more than 15 books and translated several important literary works and articles into Balochi. However, most of his poetry was composed in the Brahui language.
