Stefon Diggs has broken his silence about his relationship with Cardi B, insisting the pair are “great” despite being caught up in a very public row last month, although the question of whether they are really back together remains unanswered.
talking to TMZ In a video posted Wednesday, the NFL star, 32, was asked about her current status with the rapper.
“She’s the mother of my son. I love her so much,” he said, before adding with a smile, “You have to ask her.”
When pressed about the coffee shop confrontation that went viral in May — footage showing Cardi looking visibly animated while Diggs calmly stood leaning against a car — he downplayed it entirely.
“What argument? I don’t even think it was an argument,” he said, noting that he himself had maintained his composure throughout.
When the interviewer pointed out that Cardi seemed much less calm, Diggs became philosophical. “It’s okay…women get like that sometimes.”
Cardi herself had been equally cheerful about the whole episode when it first made headlines, turning to X to offer a characteristically sensible explanation.
“Sometimes I forget I’m a celebrity,” she wrote. “Damn, don’t they ever curse their dad when they’re hungry?”
The argument came as a surprise given that the couple had just been seen meeting at Diggs’ Mother’s Day wellness event, where they were photographed kissing and with his arm around her waist, a very public display of affection that had suggested a reconciliation was underway.
Diggs and Cardi first went Instagram official in June 2025, after having started dating earlier that year.
They separated in February, shortly after welcoming a son.
The on-again, off-again nature of their relationship continues, it seems, with Diggs keen to emphasize the warmth between them while letting Cardi work out the finer details.
