Amid the fever for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Levi’s caught the attention of fans around the world.

The reason is the strict rules of FIFA.

As part of FIFA’s “clean venues” policy, logos of non-tournament sponsors must be removed or covered. So when Levi’s Stadium in California was chosen to host the games, the famous bat logo had to be covered with a large white tarp.

Because of this, the stadium’s name was also temporarily changed to “San Francisco Bay Area Stadium.”

The brand, however, added some fun to the situation by posting a video on its official Instagram with the caption: “Welcoming the beautiful to the world. [redacted] stadium!”

The video racked up around 35.7 million views, prompting a wave of applause online.

Following the hype, Levi’s also updated its logo on Instagram, teasing World Cup fans.

Since then, however, the post has managed to receive hundreds of thousands of likes, illustrating how effective marketing can be achieved when asking brands to disappear.

By using humor and the image itself, Levi’s was able to create a stir more significant than anything an advertisement could achieve.
