The England men’s national soccer team, currently in the United States (US) for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, had its equipment stolen during transport.
According to Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, the equipment was stolen at some point during the team’s trip from Florida to its training camp in Kansas City. Speaking to X, the mayor said that an investigation has been launched to locate the thieves.
He wrote: “Public safety officials at the local, state and federal levels are working to track down where in the U.S. the items were seized and anyone who may have been involved.”
Later, in a separate tweet, the mayor welcomed the British team and shared photos of their arrival at the airport. However, he did not mention anything about the stolen equipment.
Reports indicate that the stolen goods included footwear and soccer balls, among other things. No “game-critical” items were taken.
