It’s called the sporting equinox and it will occur once in 2025, on Monday, October 27.
It’s a rare day when all four major U.S. sports leagues — the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League — have games scheduled.
“On that day, you have ten NBA games. You have two NHL games. You have a Monday Night Football game and then you have game three of the World Series,” says Bill Speros, senior betting analyst at Bookies.com.
Adding to the excitement is the chance to see some of the best athletes in each league play at the same time.
“There will be a period of time on Monday night where, in the span of an hour, you’ll be able to see Shohei Ohtani, Patrick Mahomes, Sidney Crosby and Steph Curry play,” Speros says.
And analysts say this stock could be fun for those looking to place bets.
“You can make prop bets across sports. So, you could make a bet maybe on Shohei Ohtani, how many hits he can get… With Patrick Mahomes, you might want to make his over-under on yards or completions. With Crosby, it could be, will he get a goal or an assist? And with Steph Curry, maybe it’s more or less than his point total or his total points. assists,” says Speros.
Meanwhile, interest in legal sports betting is also helping to boost the ratings of many games.
