Xbox has revealed a cool limited edition Xbox Series X console as part of the Xbox Games Showcase 2026.
Designed to celebrate the brand’s 25th anniversary, the new Xbox Series X 25 Limited Edition builds on the iconic translucent green look of the original Xbox. The system’s Xbox button lights up green, which is meant to pay homage to the classic Xbox startup animation, at least according to VP of Next Gen Jason Ronald in a new Xbox post.
“You’ll also discover some hidden surprises, as a thank you to the community,” he jokes.
In addition to the console, we will also receive a special edition of the 25th anniversary Xbox wireless controller. It’s also translucent green, with lots of little details that help it look a bit like the legendary old ‘Duke’ pad, although thankfully much thinner.
The controller will be included with the limited edition console, but is also available to purchase separately if you want to get one without having to refinance your house.
However, I’m just assuming the limited edition console will be expensive, as Microsoft hasn’t released any pricing information yet.
“The console and controller will be available together in select markets as a limited edition collection in November,” the post continues. “We will have more information to share soon regarding pricing and pre-order availability at select retailers.”
Will the console also be given away free to fans who attend the Xbox Fanfest at Summer Game Fest 2026 today?
