Tunisia has appointed two-time African Cup of Nations winner Hervé Renard as its head coach in the middle of the World Cup to see the rest.
Lamouchi, who became the first loss of a coach in just four days of the greatest extravaganza in world sport.
Lamouchi signed a three-year contract in January but was shown the door by the Tunisian Football Federation after a crushing 5-1 loss to Sweden in the opening match.
Tunisia has two World Cup games left against Japan and the Netherlands.
The FTF issued a statement saying Renard would take over until the end of the World Cup in Tunisia.
“The agreement also stipulates that negotiations will be opened after the World Cup campaign to consider a long-term partnership based on specific sporting objectives,” the statement read.
It will be Renard’s third consecutive men’s World Cup as coach.
Previously, he led Morocco to a draw and two losses in the group stage.
In the 2022 World Cup, he coached Saudi Arabia, who crushed Argentina in their first match, but suffered two defeats that ended their streak.
According to state television TunisianRenard is expected to join the Tunisian team on Tuesday, June 16 in Monterrey.
