Victoria Beckham has addressed public scrutiny surrounding her family’s estrangement from her son Brooklyn, saying she learned a long time ago to tune out the noise and insisting that she and David have always put their children first.
Speaking in a Time100 At a panel on Wednesday, the fashion designer, 51, was asked about the incessant commentary surrounding her personal life.
“I learned a long time ago not to listen to the noise, not to focus on the noise. There will always be someone who will have something to say. I just don’t pay attention to it if that makes any sense,” he said.
And he added with a touch of irony: “Someone else will take care of this. I don’t want to know. I guess that’s how I handle it.”
It also put the current wave of attention into context. “This has been going on since I was 20. So it’s been going on for a long time.”
She expressed affection for the support she has received from her husband for almost thirty years.
“I have an incredible husband who supports me enormously. We are always there for each other,” she said of David Beckham.
The comments come just days after Victoria’s first TV interview since Brooklyn, 27, posted a scathing statement on Instagram in January declaring she had no desire to reconcile with her family.
