Virginia Giuffre’s family has broken their silence after Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s investigation took a shocking turn.
Sky and Amanda Roberts expressed delight after Thames Valley Police announced they were interviewing a number of witnesses over sexual offense allegations.
They appear “hopeful” after the Police confirmed that they are evaluating possible crimes within the framework of the investigation into the former prince’s alleged misconduct in public office. Investigators are speaking with several witnesses.
Andrew, 66, was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office amid allegations that he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein.
He was released the same day under investigation and has always strongly rejected allegations of wrongdoing in relation to the convicted pedophile.
The former Duke of York has also denied any personal benefits from his business role.
Amanda Roberts, Ms. Giuffre’s sister-in-law, said News from heaven on Friday: “I think it’s initially very encouraging.”
She continued: “You know, initially we were just hearing that they were going to be behavioral investigations, like sharing government information. And to hear that the potential of investigating sexual crimes is huge. It’s more than what we’re seeing here in this country and it really gives us hope.”
He praised his sister-in-law’s courage in speaking out, adding, “And Virginia paved the way for that. If it wasn’t for her courage and her bravery and her persistence in her truth, we wouldn’t be here and we’re so grateful that the police are really taking this seriously.”
“And today was good news for us, so I think we have a lot of hope.”
Giuffre’s brother, Sky Roberts, said this shows a “huge” difference with US authorities.
“It’s a stark difference between what’s happening here with the Department of Justice and the FBI.”
He added: “We really hope this is a step in the right direction, and I encourage Thames Valley Police – we encourage them.”
One victim, an unnamed woman in her 20s, is said to have spent a night at Royal Lodge with the disgraced royal.
It had previously been reported, through a lawyer in the United States, that the woman was taken to Windsor for sexual purposes and then taken to another location.
The BBC had reported that Epstein sent the alleged victim to Britain for a sexual encounter.
Giuffre committed suicide in April 2025. She became one of Epstein’s most outspoken victims and published an award-winning book detailing her encounters with the late sex offender and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
