Taylor Swift’s official website briefly displayed a cryptic countdown clock, sending fans into a frenzy.
However, after about 10 minutes, the countdown disappeared.
The clock will expire at 1:00 pm CT/2 pm ET on May 2, with images of blue and white clouds.
This is a direct visual cue from Pixar’s Toy Story franchise. Even the background was similar to the iconic wallpaper in Andy’s room.
It is still unknown whether the appearance of the counter is a coincidence or part of a promotional strategy as Swift’s management did not make any statement regarding the teaser. Images of the counter have gone viral on the Internet very quickly.
The perfect timing has led to speculation. Toy Story 5 will be released on June 19, 2026, which coincides exactly with the 20th anniversary of the day Swift’s debut song, “Tim McGraw,” was released on June 19, 2006.
Should the trailer be any indication of a possible soundtrack collaboration, then it won’t be the first time Swift has delved into film music. Some examples of her collaborations include songs for Hannah Montana: The Movie, The Hunger Games (which earned her a Grammy for “Safe & Sound”), Fifty Shades Darker, Cats and Where the Crawdads Sing.
Some fans even linked the countdown to their wedding date. But the watch’s aesthetic felt more like Disney and Pixar than a personal ad.
