Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank are preparing to welcome their third child this summer.
Royal commentator Jennie Bond has predicted that Eugenie’s parents, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, are unlikely to appear in any official photographs released after the baby’s birth, even though both grandparents were expected to be eager to meet the new family member.
The couple announced their pregnancy in May with a touching image of their two sons, August, five, and Ernest, two, looking at an ultrasound of their future brother.
Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles had been informed of the news and was “delighted” with the announcement.
Speaking about the upcoming birth, Bond said it was only natural that both grandparents would want to support Eugenie during such a significant time.
“Who wouldn’t want to participate in the birth and first days of life of a new grandchild?” she said.
“It’s only natural that Fergie, and also Andrew, would want to get to know the newcomer and give Eugenie all the support they can.”
Despite this, Bond believes any official announcement images are likely to focus solely on Eugenie, Jack and their newborn.
“I think the couple will post a photo of the new arrival when the time comes, but I certainly don’t expect to see Andrew or Sarah included in that photo,” he said.
