X-Men 97 Season 2, Episode 4 landed on Disney+, and once you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor, I suspect you’ll have two major questions about where things go from here.
So if you’re looking for answers after the latest episode of the Marvel TV show, titled ‘Rise of Apocalypse: Part II’, I’m here to provide them to you. Or, at the very least, give my opinion on what will happen after the emotionally devastating ending and end credits scene of the episode.
It goes without saying, but Full spoilers follow immediately. for X-Men 97 The last entry of season 2. Come back now if you haven’t seen it yet.
Does Magneto die in X-Men 97 season 2 episode 4?
In short, yes. You don’t take an extremely powerful cannon shot to the chest, one that completely annihilates you, no less, from the immortal super mutant called Apocalypse and you live to tell the tale.
That being said, comic book character deaths are never permanent. Whether on the page, in a movie, or in a television adaptation, super-powered beings regularly come to life through time travel or multiverse shenanigans.
While Magneto certainly died at the hands of Apocalypse in X-Men 97In the final installment, then, it’s incredibly unlikely that he’s gone forever. He’s too popular and important a character to kill off, especially in this Disney+ animated series, so I’d be surprised if the metal-wielding mutant named Erik Magnus Lehnsherr never returns.
Now, who’s going to tell Rogue that she’s a second love interest in so many seasons…?
Does X-Men 97 Season 2 Episode 4 Have an End Credits Scene?
Yes, and it sets up the story in which James ‘Logan’ Howlett, aka Wolverine, gets his adamantium skeleton back.
Remember, in episode 8 of season 1 of this Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)-adjacent project, Magneto ripped Wolverine’s indestructible metal from his body. And, although Logan survived that ordeal thanks to his self-healing ability, from then on he had to settle for using his fragile bone claws to attack his enemies.
However, Logan won’t have to do that for much longer. In a mid-credits scene, we see Wolverine meet Captain America and Black Widow on a rooftop. After a brief chat, Cap hands Logan a top-secret file that bears the name “Weapon X.”
Longtime fans and/or those who have seen certain live-action X-Men movies (by the way, find out how to watch the X-Men movies in order once you’re done here) will understand the importance of this.
However, for those unfamiliar with Weapon Wolverine, Deadpool, Sabretooth and X-23 are among its rare success stories.
So, will Wolverine get his adamantium skeleton back in the next chapter of this Marvel Phase 6 TV series? It’s possible, especially since next week’s entry is titled ‘Weapon X, Lies and DVDs’. But, despite the comics spoilers, yes X-Men 97 continues to authentically follow and adapt this specific story from its source material, this subplot may not be resolved until later in the season.
Do you think we’ll see Magneto again? And when will Wolverine get his adamantium skeleton back? Let me know in the comments!
