- Cisco launches Cloud Control AI defense suite
- Companies urged to deploy armies of bots
- Marketplace integrates coding tools like Codex
Cisco wants companies to be prepared when malicious actors inevitably begin using Mythos in their cyberattacks. In this context, being prepared means having your own bot army, and preferably one provided by Cisco itself.
Earlier this week, the networking giant announced a new set of tools called Cisco Cloud Control. These tools will allow companies to create their own army of AI agents, responsible for monitoring systems and blocking any exploitation attempts.
“You can’t do things on a human scale anymore,” said DJ Sampath, senior vice president and general manager of AI software and platform at Cisco. PakGazette. “It has to be at machine scale, from an operational perspective.”
Preparing for myths
Cisco maintains that companies will want to use AI coding tools to develop such bots, which is why it is implementing a marketplace where users can choose different solutions, such as OpenAI’s Codex. This one, for example, will be integrated directly into the Cloud Control platform and others will likely be added as well.
The suite is already available in North America, while the market for third-party tools should launch in the second half of the year. Cisco is currently analyzing the economy, as it wants to keep a portion of the sales. It’s just not yet clear how big the cut will be:
“We are working on the economy,” Sampath added. “We should hope that we have some economies that favor us, because it costs non-trivial amounts to be able to take advantage of all these pieces.”
In early April of this year, Anthropic released Mythos Preview, a cybersecurity-oriented AI model that was reportedly able to reveal decades-old vulnerabilities in fully patched systems used by some of today’s largest companies. Not only that, but he was also able to create working exploits, which is why Anthropic decided not to release it to the public yet.
However, after more than two months of being blocked, it seems that Mythos could see the light of day in the coming weeks.
