- Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist Now Available for Any Business
- As a first port of call, it frees up humans to handle more valuable calls.
- Available from $24.99/month, speaks 10+ languages and works 24/7
Zoom has announced the launch of a dedicated AI receptionist that customers can deploy within their existing business phone system, meaning potential customers will no longer have to commit to migrating to Zoom Phone, as was the case previously.
By helping customers avoid disruptive infrastructure changes and wasting years of investment in other phone solutions, Zoom could end up with more paying customers who would have otherwise discarded the tool due to migration requirements.
The system is designed to complement existing human teams by answering incoming calls and directing them to the appropriate support channels.
Zoom AI Receptionist Now Available to Everyone, Including Non-Zoom Phone Customers
“Businesses shouldn’t have to replace their phone system to benefit from AI,” wrote Zoom Phone general manager Chris Moss.
The company boasted that its virtual receptionist can speak more than 10 languages, will work 24 hours a day, and has built-in transcription to help agents in the future.
It can automatically handle routine business questions and schedule appointments, but will also transfer calls to the relevant people or departments when necessary. By pairing customers with an AI agent first to hopefully answer some of the most basic and common questions, time is freed up for human workers to handle the most valuable and complex interactions.
The virtual receptionist also promises to fill gaps where human agents might be busy taking other calls, or in our schedules when customer service would normally be unreachable.
According to the company’s own data, one in two consumers say they would switch to a competitor after just one bad experience. About three-quarters (71%) also said they found calling a company more stressful than the problem itself.
Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist is available now for $29.99 per month for 100 minutes, or $24.99 with an annual commitment.
