South Korea warns diplomats they could be at risk after attack on education system

Cybercriminals may have siphoned data from current and former South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) employees, as well as other government personnel, in an attack that lasted ten months.

The South Korean government has revealed an attack on the online education system of its National Diplomatic Academy. The system, created in 2022 by the country’s main institution for educating and training diplomats, apparently contained a security vulnerability that anonymous threat actors managed to exploit.
