Eminem’s daughter Alaina Marie Scott savors every last moment with her newborn as she returns to work for the first time since giving birth.
On Sunday, June 14, the rapper’s adopted daughter took to Instagram to reflect on motherhood and the emotional milestone of ending her maternity leave two months after welcoming daughter Scottie with husband Matt Moeller.
“Two months watching the world slow down and speed up at the same time. Two months of little fingers wrapped around mine, sleepy hugs, midnight feedings, and falling more in love than I ever thought possible,” Scott, 33, captioned the post, which was accompanied by a photo shoot with her newborn.
“Scottie, honey, you’ve made every ordinary moment feel extraordinary,” the doting mother continued. “Tomorrow I go back to work and my heart breaks and explodes at the same time. It breaks because I know how precious these moments are. Knowing that one day I will rock you to sleep for the last time and I don’t even realize it. I find myself looking at you, trying to memorize every detail because I know I will never get this exact version of you back.”
At the same time, she expressed her gratitude for becoming a mother and shared the lesson she hopes Scottie takes with her.
“I hope that as you grow older, you see that women don’t have to choose between building a career and raising a family, if they choose either option,” she wrote.
Reflecting on the past two months, Scott described the experience as “a privilege” and added: “Time with you will never be enough, my true heaven on earth.”
Alaina is the biological daughter of Dawn Scott, sister of Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Scott. Eminem and Kim adopted Alaina in the early 2000s while Dawn struggled with substance abuse before her death in 2016.
