Ecuador and Germany will meet in the final group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 4:00 pm ET from New York New Jersey Stadium.
Ecuador lost to Ivory Coast 0-1 in their first match and drew 0-0 with Curaçao in their second match, entering this final group stage match without a win in two matches. Germany beat Curacao 7-1 in their first match and beat Ivory Coast 2-1 in their second match, with Deniz Undav scoring three goals so far in the tournament, sealing Germany’s place in the round of 32 with an injury-time double against Ivory Coast. German defender Nico Schlotterbeck has been ruled out for the rest of the World Cup with a left ankle injury suffered during the victory over the Ivory Coast.

Entering the tournament, Ecuador was seen as a team capable of advancing deep into the knockout stages.
