For Messi, it was 2022 when many believed he would be done with the World Cup, especially after finally adding that victory to his illustrious resume. But he returned in 2026 and is one of the favorites for the Golden Boot award, scoring eight goals in six games, although he was not among the three in the quarterfinal match against Switzerland.

There was an option at the end of the game as a consolation goal, but it was Lautaro Martínez who scored. But Julián Álvarez’s magnificent goal in the 112th minute of extra time sealed the victory for Argentina, who were playing with a man advantage after Breel Embolo received a red card in the 72nd minute.

In England’s case, Bellingham was man of the match, scoring both goals for his team to beat Norway. One of them was controversial, however, after video replay showed a kick hitting the cable holding the Skycam, and England needed just two passes before Bellingham missed a player and buried his shot in the back of the Norway net.

While it wasn’t called at the time, Bellingham’s second goal was undoubtedly after clearing Morgan Rogers’ shot that deflected off the Norwegian goalkeeper and landed right on his boot in stoppage time to send his team to the semi-final.

At the same time, another confrontation between England and Argentina is approaching. These two countries have provided some key moments in World Cup history, including the late Diego Maradona’s famous ‘Hand of God’ goal in 1986, while David Beckham received a red card for kicking Diego Simeone in 1998.

There is drama between these two teams, one wants the chance to defend their title, while the other hopes to return to the final for the first time since 1966. England won the tournament that year and hope to take home the trophy.

It’s Messi. It’s Kane. It’s England and Argentina, and it’s all on FOX. Here’s how to watch the game, including start time, TV information and streaming options.
