The favorite: Denny Hamlin is having a solid season so far. He captured the checkered flag in Las Vegas, led 603 laps and is second in the standings. At Talladega, he led 28 laps but finished 15th. At last year’s Würth 400, Hamlin completed just 73 laps before his car lost power and caught fire, ending his day.
One to watch: Carson Hocevar has been the talk of the town since earning his first Cup Series victory last week at Talladega. He now ranks sixth in odds to win outright in Texas. After jumping to eighth place in Bob Pockrass’ latest power rankings, FOX Sports Motorsports Insider noted that Hocevar “probably feels like he’s on top of the world.” While Hocevar finished this race in 24th place last year, he took the pole at Texas Motor Speedway in 2025 with a lap speed time of 191.659 mph.
