Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday left on an official visit to Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Conference 2026 from January 19 to 23.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a non-governmental organization based in Switzerland that brings together leaders from the political, business, academic and cultural sectors to discuss global issues. The annual conference, held in Davos, serves as a platform for global leaders and executives to address economic challenges, global policies and innovative solutions.

The prime minister is accompanied by a high-level delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Cheema, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi and other senior officials.

The prime minister’s visit will include diplomatic and economic engagements, with several bilateral meetings scheduled with heads of state and government, as well as leaders of international organizations.

A key element of the visit will be the Business Roundtable, jointly hosted by Pakistan and the WEF, which will bring together leaders of major global companies seeking to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan or expand their existing investments.
