Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been accused of using King Charles’ “soft side” towards Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with their demand for security.
The return of the Sussexes has become a topic of conversation around town due to confusing reports. Some said his mid-July arrival is confirmed, others claimed Harry is reconsidering bringing his wife and children to his homeland for safety reasons.
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden believes the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been emotionally blackmailing the monarch into reversing the taxpayer-funded police protection decision, which was denied.
He shared, “To me, this seems like some kind of cheating, frankly. So let’s be clear about what’s happening. Harry and Megan are saying, ‘We’ll stay in a royal residence, but only if every time we go out with our kids, we’re guaranteed safety.'”
“So, the last time Harry was here, last September, for example, he received police protection when he carried out an engagement. This time, they have a lot of different things they want to do, but they say that unless it’s guaranteed, we won’t stay with you,” the royal commentator explained.
Richard said it feels like a “trap” set for the King, which could have created chaos within the Palace. He added: “So there’s a lot of manipulation and it’s all pretty unedifying.”
Not only that, Harry and Meghan faced criticism for using their children for security during their trip to the United Kingdom.
He said: “I’ve heard that they still haven’t had the guarantees they want in terms of security. So it’s not clear whether they will bring their children or not. So it genuinely seems like they are using the children, you know, to put pressure on the king.”
