Princess Kate was strictly advised to stay away from a historic event despite her desperate pleas to be there in person.
The Princess of Wales has been through some serious health problems, most notably her battle with cancer, for which she received nine months of treatment.
Catherine made a recent appearance at Wimbledon, following her Three Peaks Challenge, which she took up for personal growth following her cancer journey. The future Queen appears to be in good health now and has taken up her usual daily commitments.
However, there have been some events in the past that he wishes he had been able to attend despite his health condition. During a BBC documentary Our Wimbledon, Catherine revealed to Sue Barker how she missed a historic Wimbledon match in 2013 despite “begging” to go.
“I was very pregnant with George, so I couldn’t show up,” Kate said.
To which Sue Barker replied: “But you had a great excuse!”
“I know, but still,” Kate said. “I thought, ‘Maybe I could go,’ but the doctors said ‘no.’ I wrote to [Andy Murray] “Afterwards I apologized for not being there, but congratulations.”
That was the year Sir Andy Murray reached the men’s singles final and was aiming to become the first Briton to win the Grand Slam since Fred Perry in 1936.
