US President Donald Trump criticized New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s recent executive order to introduce a year-long statewide ban on hyperscale data centers, urging the state to change its stance “immediately.”

In a post on Truth Social, Trump characterized data centers as “money-making machines” that create taxes and jobs comparable to “liquid gold,” implying that they are not only crucial to cloud computing and artificial intelligence, but also to the country’s economy.
