- Warner Bros. will adapt Trevor Henderson’s film siren head for the big screen
- Arms director Zach Cregger and whale fallBrian Duffield is working on the script.
- This news comes after that of A24. Backrooms became the second highest-grossing horror film of 2026
We’re seeing a trend of Creepypasta adaptations returning, and siren head is the next internet horror phenomenon to be adapted to the big screen.
Movies based on creepypasta have varied in quality over the years, whether it be the terrible thin man or the critically acclaimed Backroomsand it looks like we’re about to get even more new horror movies based on these terrifying tales online.
when it comes to siren headHe already has a strong team behind him. Trevor Henderson’s original creation has been picked up by Warner Bros., with Arms‘Zach Cregger and whale fallBrian Duffield is working on the script, according to reports from Deadline.
siren head has all the ingredients to be a successful horror film, but of course it’s too early to say if it will ever reach the heights of Backroomswhich became the second highest-grossing horror film of 2026 with a gross of $331 million.
The question is, will there be a siren head Does the film work as a feature film? At the moment I am not entirely convinced.
The Siren Head short was good, but I’m not sure a feature film is necessary.
Look
Sometimes less is more. That’s how I feel about siren headas the creepy cryptid is well suited to short-form entertainment such as YouTube videos and quick horror games. Will it have the same impact with a longer runtime?
Creepypasta stories are usually quite simple and siren head is not an exception. The creature is known to camouflage itself with its surroundings before attacking anyone nearby, with the siren head wiki page explaining that it is responsible for “a large number of disappearances in suburban and rural settings.”
As scary as it is, I’m worried there won’t be enough substance for this to work and we’ll get bored Siren Head’s modus operandi of chasing down and killing anyone who crosses his path, seemingly for no reason, before doing it again.
back rooms, On the other hand, it is slower and requires deep exploration to discover the true horror, which is why I think it has done exceptionally well theatrically. There are many areas, lore, and monsters to explore, and the Backrooms The fandom is full of fan-made levels that introduce new threats and ideas.
Like Backrooms, the storytelling possibilities seem endless. It’s a vast, terrifying space with strange scenery and that signature dark ambient sound design that keeps us on edge. Any character can set foot in it, often without unexpectedly stepping out of reality. It is ripe for multiple adaptations and interpretations, while siren head I may not be up to that.
But, as I said, there is a strong team behind it. We may be heading into a new era of very effective Creepypasta adaptations, and I’m excited if that’s true.
I will be following siren head up close, and I hope it will be an exciting feature film adaptation after all.
