Dua Lipa is still waiting to move into her dream home in London, even though she bought it six years ago.

The singer is carrying out major renovation works, so the house will not be ready until 2027.

Reports say Dua and her husband, Callum Turner, have spent years planning major changes to the property.

The project includes the construction of a large basement with a swimming pool, a music studio and a private cinema.

The renovation is expected to cost around £3 million.

The work has taken much longer than expected because getting the permit was a slow process.

Dua’s team first applied in 2021, but construction did not begin until 2024 after waiting three years for approval.

The project, however, has not been easy. Local groups have raised concerns about the loss of green space, the protection of old trees and possible flooding in the area.

For this reason, the builders had to work very carefully and around 20 workers have been on site for more than a year, digging a few meters underground, taking care that the nearby historic trees were not damaged.

Dua’s team also promised to keep noise and dust to a minimum and said they are “committed to minimizing disruption to local residents and businesses during construction works.”

Design expert Leigh Ann Raines said projects like this naturally take longer than usual because of how complicated they are.

“You could invest £3 million to make this a house that suits your needs,” Raines said.

He added: “This takes time. Rome was not built in a day!”
